Crowdfunding
Our plan is to build the Lobeliana Library (see project here) in the Tinquilco lake basin, next to Huerquehue National Park.
The land we will buy is in a quiet and protected setting, an idyllic place to house the unique collections we are already receiving.
First Stage: The purchase of the land in Huerquehue
It starts with taking the first step:
the purchase of the land in Huerquehue
The heart of the Araucanía region, at the foot of Huerquehue National Park, has historically been a meeting point between human and non-human knowledge. It is not merely a physical place: it is the fertile ground where we will build a library that honors the memory of the land, nature, and humanity's legacy. We envision the creation of a unique space: a haven of knowledge, nature, and experience. A center where diverse disciplines converge, designed to house research (both theoretical and experimental), creative residencies, and programs linked to natural and human heritage. This space not only seeks to preserve and transmit knowledge that is at risk of extinction due to the destruction of the ecosystems and cultures that sustain it, but also to generate economic and social value through a sustainable model, with high potential to attract visitors, researchers, and cultural agents from both Chile and abroad.
- Stage 1: Purchase of the 1000m2 plot of land
- Stage 2: Enabling the book storage facility
- Stage 3: Importing books
- Stage 4: Library Construction
- Stage 5: CEL Enabling.
