Jani Thakhi is an audiovisual and ethnobotanical investigation that explores the relationship between humans and the coca leaf along the Qhapaq Ñan (Inca Road). Conceived as a series of documentary essays, the project combines fieldwork, archival footage, and poetic reflection to reconstruct the cultural, historical, and spiritual connections that this plant has woven across various Andean territories. More than a finished work, Jani Thakhi is an ongoing research process where image, word, and experience intertwine to envision new forms of knowledge from the Global South.
